Only in Vienna will you find a Trafik. They are little shops that sell cigarettes, stamps, magazines, newspapers, postcards, etc.
They very often will also have a cigarette vending machine outside. I always regarded them as a total normal thing. Only now, after living in the States for more than six years, I recognize them as something "different" than what you would see elsewhere in the world. Cigarettes are pretty much banned from the public in the US. I don't even know where you would buy them here other than at the gas station?
