Weekend reading...

Wait, what happened? Where did the sun go? Why is it so cold all of a sudden? Oh right, it's fall in Germany. Not the golden, sunny beautiful side of fall but rather the gray skies, bundling up with scarves, hat and gloves and still freezing type of fall. Me no likey! This side of fall also brings you the first colds and sniffles and both Ella and me got caught by a nasty bug last week that lasted way too long. All good now, ready for the weekend, in hope of some sunshine. And just in time - a new version of the weekend reading! I know, it's been a while. Enjoy!

As Halloween is coming up, we will be carving some pumpkins with some friends tomorrow. I love these ideas by the one and only Martha Stewart.

This made me laugh.

On my long list of books that I want to read: Fates & Furies by Lauren GroffThe light between oceans by M.L. Stedman and Me Before You by Jojo Moyes.

We (well, actually Alex and Sophie) baked this glorious apple cake last week and it will become a staple in this house. Super easy and oh so delicious!

Have you seen Hawkeye Huey's photographs yet?  He is only 5! If you love his work, there is a Kickstarter to fund his first photo book.

Unfortunately only in German but Notes of Berlin is a pretty entertaining site. It's a collection of random notes that can be found throughout Berlin. In line with this is Ich bin Barbara. She leaves her notes all around Germany, using existing signs and posters, playing with words, very often with a political context.
